Physical snapshots of memories

Project overview:

Got to be involved in redesigning the SnapFish website. It’s a photo sharing and printing service company which has various tools for the consumer. I was primarily focusing on the “prints” and “books” webpages where the bulk of customers would visit and discover products.

Website audit

I audited the existing website. I segmented my findings into 3 categories: Usability, Visual Design, Accessibility.

Key findings

Usability
Lack of a clear hierarchy for of how all the products are displayed

Visual Design
Excessive font styles and inconsistent brand treatments

Accessibility
Copy sizes inside cards do not meet minimum readability requirements

Decision making

Before designing, I did a deep dive of understanding the user journey and working with relevant data.

Outcome

After launching the pages with a successful turnout, the client wanted us to continue designing in other areas of the overall e-commerce site. Beneficial outcomes include: Increased e-commerce conversion rate by 3.5%. Smoother page loads. Longer web sessions.
